Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, is playing a game to take over the criminal underworld of Gotham. Aside from a bat signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson cameo in “The Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? For his own series, however, the character is depicted as a casual tobacco user who prefers cigars.

As in Batman, Colin Farrell does an excellent job of portraying the Penguin as a stereotypical mobster
The first episode is a direct sequel to Matt Reeves’ Batman, and I imagine those who haven’t seen it will be a bit lost. However, I watched The Batman a while ago, and this show did an admirable job of quickly reacquainting me with where the movie left off, without getting bogged down in a didactic recap. It also captures the aesthetic and somber tone of the movie nicely, though the show has far more moments of sly levity than the movie.
But so far, it’s off to a great start
;a guy from the street:" rude, profane, mercurial, and quick to violence; but also savvy, cunning, and able to read people. The character may have absolutely nothing to do with the comic book version, but he’s interesting in his own right. I have my doubts about the show giving the Penguin a teenage sidekick; and I don’t know if The Penguin’s machinations will be enough to sustain an entire season.
